1. What video tape formats can you convert to DVD or hard drive?
We can convert most any format including VHS, VHS-C, SVHS, SVHS-C, Video8, Hi8, Digital8, Betamax, miniDV and HDV. We also handle 8mm and Super 8mm film, as well as PAL (European format) tapes.

2. How long does the conversion process take?
All conversion happens in 'real time' - in other words, a 2 hour videotape takes 2 hours to convert to digital format, and then some additional processing and DVD burning time. The time frame is based on the level of service selected and is only an estimate. During peak times of the year, processing times can take longer. We will do our best to give you an accurate processing time estimation, but please keep in mind, the size of your order and the length of your tapes can cause processing times to extend over the estimated time period.

3. Do you gaurantee processing time?
Not by default, it is based on the level of service selected and with the express service, the size of you order. We will give you an estimate based on the amount of orders in front of yours once your order arrives.

4. Can I send you my PAL formatted tapes?
Yes, we handle PAL tapes. Since it takes more time to convert PAL (European format) tapes to NTSC (United States format), additional per-tape charges apply.

5. What about VHS tapes longer than 2 hours?
Our pricing is based on 2 hours per DVD. If your tapes exceed 2 hours, there is an additional charge.

6. What is the difference between a VHS and a VHS-C tape?
VHS-C tapes are smaller tapes about 2" x 3" and they were most commonly used in camcorders. VHS tapes are the full sized tapes, about 4" x 7". We can convert both sizes for you.

12. Are there any membership fees?

13. Can you make my videos look better?
We utilize a sophisticated video conversion process which will ensure that your films and videotapes will look as best as possible. Remember though, that old film is subject to prior scratches and aging; and video tapes will never look as good as broadcast TV, for example. While we cannot always improve the quality of your film or tape, we can ensure that you get the best transfer to DVD that is possible with today's technology.

14. How many tapes can I send in at one time?
You may place an order for any amount of tapes / film reels.

15. Can I have a copyrighted video transferred to DVD?
It is our understanding that you are allowed to make a backup copy of any copyrighted videos you own. Unfortunately, we cannot transfer copyrighted material without permission from the copyright owner. At O'Hara Productions, we require you agree to our Terms and Conditions with any of our conversion services.
