Detailed Description: DVD Video is the most popular format for watching Hollywood movies and video content. It's designed to be played on DVD Players that hook directly into a television. Some computers have a DVD-ROM drive that can also play DVD Video.
We utilize the highest grade transfer equipment in the industry. Each of your tapes will be transferred via a professional grade video deck. The video signal is routed through processing hardware which stabilizes (time base correction) and enhances the signal (procamp). If the image is dark or faded, our transfer process will add correction giving the video a noticeably cleaner look. The audio is also processed and the levels are adjusted to make the sound more audible and easier to hear.
Editing: The DVD Video format can be edited on a computer with the correct software and knowledge, although we do not recommend it. DVD video utilizes the MPEG2 codec which is highly compressed. When you edit this format and then have it create another DVD Video the quality can degrade to an unacceptable level.
We recommend having your tapes transferred to Hard Drive if you intend to edit. The codec used when we transfer to Hard Drive is the DV codec. DV was designed for editing and does not have the same degradation problems as MPEG2. |
